WILLIAM HOFF
THE OFFICAL PHOTOGRAPHER OF LA GUARDIA AIRPORT.

Below is shown my collection of postcards based on photographs from La Guardia Airport's official photographer William Hoff.

The real photo postcards comes both in a numbered series as well as unnumbered cards. On the backsides two different producers are mentioned. One is William Hoff, the other is Foto SEAL in New York. I believe you can find the cards in at least three versions, one unnumbered, one produced by Foto Seal and one by W. Hoff. The relation between William Hoff and Foto Seal Co. is not clear to me yet.

To complicate facts a bit ...
The postcards, both by W Hoff and Foto Seal, comes in at least two different printing versions. I leave that for the moment ...

There is also a later (?) series by W. T. Hoff Studio. These postcards are printed photos and not real photo postcards.

Finally, the are also miniature souvenir cards (not postcards), size AxB, most likely sold in packs of 12.
I have one such set in my collection.

When were these cards issued?
The used cards in my collection have cancellation dates between March 31 1940 to August 30 1944.

I have not yet identified 14 numbers: 53, 58, 75, 78, 80, 81, 87, 88, 89, 90, 91, 92, 93 and 94.
BUT, I have 7 unnumbered post cards below which I have not yet managed to map towards a specific number!

... and, is #95 really part of this series?

Info found on internet [www.metropostcard.com]:
"Foto Seal Co. (1938-1959), 118 East 28th Street, New York, NY.
A publisher of real photo view-cards that mostly depicted scenes of New York City.
These cards were often issued in sets that were sold in souvenir packets."
